A couple of years ago, I actually began to rethink my profession because of this. I would look around at other portfolio sites, and just the fact that my style was different than a lot of other designers, made me feel like a hack. Designers are often prone to thinking “why didn’t I think of that?” or “ugh, they did that so much better than me”, and those thoughts can intimidate designers out of the business.
